The School of Allied Health Sciences has honoured 25 lecturers nominated by students for their outstanding contributions to the school. Their names are listed below.
The Department of Imaging Technology and Sonography is one of the new academic Department established in the School of Allied Health Sciences which became Operational in August, 2015. The department is accredited to run two (2) B.Sc. programmes, namely:
- B.Sc. Diagnostic Imaging Technology (Radiography).
- B.Sc. Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
The first cohort of students for these programmes graduated at the end of the 2019/2020 academic year.
The curriculum for the training of the UCC Medical Imaging Scientists is unique and well-crafted, one of a kind in Ghana. The curriculum is designed to blend and give exposure to students on all the various specialties and modalities of Medical Imaging Science in Level 100 & 200 before students are divided into their specialties in Level 300 & 400 that is, Medical Imaging Technology (Radiography) or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
